Vance Clifford Meadows

      Vance Clifford Meadows, 86, of Brighton, passed away Nov. 3, 2010 in Thornton.

      He was born Sept. 19, 1924, to Fred and Martha (Mullins) Meadows in Sandstone, W. Va.. He attended high school in West Virginia and then attended numerous universities in obtaining his degree in Prosthetics. Vance  lived in the Brighton area since 1972. He owned and operated Meadows Orthopedic in Denver until his retirement in May 1996. His specialty was building prosthetics for children. In his free time, Vance loved to hunt, fish and camp. He was also an avid hat collector.
      He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Brighton, children, Jane Holton, of Kilgore, Texas, Clifford Meadows, of Boise, Idaho, Gaye Patterson, of Cody, Wyo., Frank (Debra) Meadows, of Fort Lupton, Jeannie (Rock) Eckhardt, of Casper, Wyo., Marggie (Lenny) Buss, of Boise, and Joyce (Mark) Scruggs of Powell, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
    Vance was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.
    Memorial service is at 11 a.m., Nov. 6, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
