Thomas and Beverly (Moffitt) Trostel were married Oct. 11, 1951 in Brighton.
The couple have five children; Debra, Tom Jr., Martin, Leilani (deceased), and Rebecca; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
After only three months of marriage, Tom went into the Air Force during the Korean War. After he returned, they farmed and ranched in the Fort Lupton/Longmont areas.
“Times were tough then, but we always had time to take the kids camping, fishing, or just have fun at home” they say.
Tom was a 4-H leader for many years and had his own country music band. Beverly enjoys knitting, gardening, reading, and traveling. Tom likes music, horses, and hunting, and they both love fishing.
Their formula for staying married all these years is to “give more than you take.”
They invite family and friends to an open house at their home from 2 to 5 p.m., Oct. 16.
