LAKEWOOD -- Frederick's Ryan Chacon, who rehabbed a partially torn meniscus the past 3 1/2 months, qualified for two individual finals after the opening round of the state 4A boys track-and-field meet June 24.
Chacon, a senior, advanced in the 100-meter dash, where he posted a time of 11.15 seconds. He finished third in the 400-meter prelims, where his time was 48.42.
Braylen Fenderson of Riverdale Ridge also advanced to the finals in two events. He turned a personal-best time of 10.79 in the preliminary round of the 100-meters. In the 200-meters, Fenderson took second in the prelims with a time of 22.11 .
The 100-meter finals are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26. The finals in the 400-meters are at noon the same day. The 200-meter finals are at 1:46 p.m. Saturday.
