Fort Lupton High School pitcher Taylor Fells put pen to paper Feb. 7 and signed a letter of intent to play softball at Bluefield State College in West Virginia.

"It's just a slim percentage of kids who get to play in college, no matter how good you were in high school," FLHS Principal John Biner said. "When you watch a kid perform on the field, that's good stuff. But when the kid is a good student and a good citizen, that;s a beautiful thing."

Fells announced her intent just before the holidays.
