Veteran Robert Royce Allen, 81, of Dacono, died Aug. 11, 2011, in Brighton. He was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Custer, S.D., to Robert Allen and Sedalia Mattox. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1947 and joined the US Air Force in February 1950. Robert served in the Air Force until February 1954 and married Nadine Louis Bourne May 25, 1973.
Robert and his wife enjoyed playing music and entertaining together. He enjoyed traveling and going to concerts.
Robert is survived by his wife of 39 years, of Brighton; children, Robert Allen Jr., of Minnesota, Royce Allen of Platteville and Virginia (David) Clayton of Portulaca, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Roberta; half-sisters, Helene and Arlene; and his daughter, Cheryl.
Graveside services were Aug. 15 at Bear Canyon Cemetery in Sedalia. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
