FORT LUPTON — The Weld Re-8 School District will host its sixth annual community and education summit from 9 a.m. to noon, Feb. 6, at the Fort Lupton Community Center, 203 S. Harrison Ave.

Community members will have an opportunity to review and provide input on the challenges facing the district (including an update on fiscal considerations) as well as recent success across the school district. Changes in accreditation and Race to the Top information will also be discussed.

Administrators from throughout the district will provide information and address questions, on a variety of topics, including student achievement, the Teacher Incentive Fund grant, district operations and facilities.

Student performances will also be a part of the program this year with the Fort Lupton High School Jazz Band performing prior to the meeting and Quest Drama Team performing during a morning break. A hot breakfast will also be provided for participants.

Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. If interested in attending this free event, contact Wendy Sarazen at 303-857-3203 by Jan. 29.
