John “Jay” Brady, 73, passed away June 9, 2011, at his home in Fort Lupton.
John was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Dr. Rolland R. Brady and Helen W. Shrimpton Brady. John graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1955. John married Nancy Butler in 1990 and moved to Fort Lupton where he resided until his death.
John was recognized for his radio personality and as an acclaimed author of numerous articles, newspaper columns, and a published book titled “Do You Remember?” John was known for his gift of connecting with others by remembering growing up in the 1950s, his fondness and clever personification of cats, his love of Husker football and knowledge of sports in general, and his regular communications with his “Bradyville” email contacts.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Teri (Ralph) Brady Dudley, brother Robert (Jackie Walter) Brady; nephew, James R. Brady; stepsister, Barbara Harris; stepdaughter Kathleen Livingston; stepson, Bill Butler; stepdaughter, Beverly Lidell; stepson, Paul Butler; and grandchildren, Dallas Dudley, Nick Livingston and Ron Livingston.
John was preceeded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Herbert G. Harris.
A service to celebrate John’s life is 10 a.m., July 18, at the Ainsworth Congregational Church and 2 p.m., July 20, at the Fort Lupton Recreation Center.
