Jean Elizabeth Bailey Knox passed peacefully on Aug. 19, 2014, at home in the presence of her family.

Jean was born on Feb. 5, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., to Agnes Baird Bailey and Harold Reed Bailey. She was raised in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Kansas where she met her husband. She married Robert J. “Scotty” Knox in 1943.  They had three children and lived most of their life in Denver. She was licensed as a private pilot and in 1976 relocated to Van Aire, a private flying community near Brighton.  She was a successful real estate agent and broker in Brighton.  From 1982 to 2013 she and her husband wintered in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. They shared a lifelong enthusiasm for cars, and recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.

Jean is survived by her husband, Scotty; a daughter Cynthia Knox Cossen, and a son Douglas Charles Knox; grandchildren Geoffrey, Erin, Gail, Beth, Gregory and Laura; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Robert Knox in 1960.  

Jean will be dearly missed by family and friends near and far.
