George A. Mc Cormick

George A. Mc Cormick, 80, of Lochbuie, passed away Feb. 4, 2014, at his home. Born Sept. 5, 1933, in Denver, to Addison and Nellie (Clark) Mc Cormick, he graduated from high school in Denver and then joined the U.S. Navy where he was a radio operator aboard ship. He married Anna McDermott, who preceded him in death in 1958, and later married Elaine Borslien in November 1959 in Denver. He made his home in the Lochbuie-Hudson area for the past 35 years.

George owned and operated SpitFire Automotive in Denver for over 30 years. He loved to follow NASCAR and was an avid Broncos fan. He loved reading and listening to music, especially Classical and the Big Bands. George’s true joy in life was flying his own plane.

He is survived by his children, Iris (Tim) Clark, of Brighton, Jim Mc Cormick, of Morrison, Corey Mc Cormick, of Denver, DeAnna (Russell) Clark, of Golden, Kevin (Linda) Mc Cormick, of Englewood, and Marjorie (Ron) Mc Cormick, of Mt. City, Tenn.; two sisters, June (Bos) Boswell, of Englewood, and Lois Shelden of Arvada; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include many close friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Tabor-Rice Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
