Frederick's Tavagnacco out of state 4A tennis tournament

Frederick High school's Matteo Tavagnacco, the first member of the boys tennis team to qualify for the state tournament, came up short in the opening round of the tournament Oct. 13 in Pueblo. Sam Billups of Evergren beat Tavagnacco 6-4, 6-2. Billups lost in the quarterfinals, which eliminated Tavagnacco from the tournament.
