Looking for something athletic to do, either for yourself or for your kids. The Fort Lupton Recreation Department has some ideas.

Sports leagues

The city is looking for lower-E (beginner) and coed teams to round out its spring adult softball leagues.

Games are Monday nights, starting May 18, at Pearson Park, state Highway 52 and U.S. Highway 85. The season ends July 18. The fee is $450 per team for an eight-game season. The deadline to sign up is May 9; afterward, the team fee increases $25.

The deadline for the early bird sign-ups ($30 fee) for the city's boys and girls soccer league (for prekindergarteners through second-graders) is Saturday, May 21. A second, early bird registration period ends Saturday, July 16, with a fee of $40. After that, the charge increases to $50.

Games will be at the community park outside the recreation center on South Harrison Avenue. First games for the prekindergarteners and kindergarteners are Aug. 9. The first- and second-grade seasons starts Aug. 11.

The city's girls' fall volleyball league (third- through sixth-graders) begins Saturday, Sept. 10, at the rec center and other surrounding facilities. If you sign up by Saturday, May 21, the fee is $50. The early bird fee is $60 if paid by Saturday, Aug. 6; afterward, the fee increases to $75.

The city also needs youth basketball players (kindergarteners through second-graders) for its fall youth basketball program. Games begin Saturday, Oct. 15 and continue through mid-November at the recreation center and other nearby recreation centers.

The early bird fee is $40 by Sept. 10 and $55 afterward. Call 303-857-4200 for information on any of the city leagues.

Skyhawks camps

Skyhawks Sports Academy is bringing its basketball, flag football, soccer and volleyball camps to the area this summer. All sessions will be in the recreation center gym at 203 S. Harrison Ave.

All camps run from 9 a.m. to noon, and the cost for all camps is $145. Volleyball camp for 8- to 14-year-olds) is the week of Monday, June 6. Soccer camp (6- to 12-year-olds) is the week of Monday, June 20. Mini-Hawk camp (baseball, basketball and soccer for 4- to 6-year-olds) is the week of Monday, June 11.

Flag football camp (6- to 12-year-olds) is the week of Monday, July 25, and basketball camp for 6- to 12-year-olds is the week of Monday, Aug. 1.
