Mills recorded 33 total tackles for a Hawks’ team that finished 3-7 last season. Sixteen of those tackles were solo efforts. He also recorded two sacks in nine games.
“I had multiple (NCAA Division) 2 and D-3 schools interested and many had offered. But in the end, Dakota State felt like home to me,” he said.
Mills plans to study business management with an eye on real estate or leading a business “to do amazing things.”

“But my senior year, everything started to open back up and we were able to see facilities,” Mills said. “I feel that is a big resource for incoming athletes to see, because a facility can be a difference-maker.”
Mills is ready for the next step.
“I am excited for the next four years of my life with football, and I am also excited for what my future has in store for me,” he said.
