U.S. veteran Dale W. Ewing, 84, of Fort Lupton and formerly of Brighton, died Oct. 10, 2011, at Life Care Center in Greeley.
He was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Fort Lupton, to Millard H. and Juanita (Midcap) Ewing. He served during World War II from 1943 to 1946, receiving numerous commendations for combat service in Iwo Jima, Sasebo and Nagasaki, Japan.
Survivors include his wife, Noreen Ewing; brother, Millard H. Ewing, of El Centro, Calif.; daughter, Cynthia K. (R.S. Joe) Pinner; son, Kirk D. (Susan) Ewing; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Grant Harry Ewing.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m.,, Oct. 16, and funeral service is 10 a.m., Oct. 17, at Erlinger Funeral Home in Fort Lupton. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
