The so-called "rebateable budget" had $334,000 to cover four line items .. repairs, use of propane, removing and transporting solids and wastes and the chemicals used in the water and wastewater plant.
Jon Mays, the public safety director for the water and wastewater plant, said he overspent the budget by about $27,000.
"We don't add any interest to the money," Mays told council. "It's directly passed through to the city."
Mays was on the virtual call from a darkened room in his house.
"Should we throw a little exctra money your way for some lights?" joked Mayor Zo Stieber.
* Council approved two ordinances to annex and rezone the Hagler Annexation, four parcels of land totaling 24 acres near Weld County roads 22 and 19.
The applicants, Lee and Mandi Hagler, proposed a three-part development of more than 500 storage pods with a secured fence. The site will be open during daylight hours.
Council also ratified the appointment of James Ripka to the senior citizen advisory board. His term expires Dec. 31, 2023.
Council also adopted a resolution changing its business meeting times to 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The first meeting at the new time will be Tuesday, April 19.
