Denver burger joint Cherry Cricket is expanding with plans to open its third location in Littleton next year.
The chain announced the expansion plans on Dec. 22, saying the new location will be at 819 W. Littleton Blvd.
According to the news release, Cherry Cricket has been serving burgers and beer in Cherry Creek for more than 76 years and in the Ballpark neighborhood since 2018. The team is projecting the Littleton location to open between fall 2022 and spring 2023, creating an estimated 70-90 new jobs, according to the news release.
“Everywhere I go someone wants to tell me their story about The Cricket. I watch them as they tell me the story and it always puts a smile on their face. If I’ve learned anything in the last two years it’s that smiles are important,” said co-CEO Ed Cerkovnik. “We’ve been honored to be part of so many great memories, be it a milestone celebration or an impromptu night out with friends, and now we are excited to bring that to Littleton.”
The building at 819 W Littleton Blvd was constructed in 1967 and has been home to several restaurants over the years, including the Crestwood Restaurant for more than 40 years. The Cherry Cricket has big plans for this third location. Renovations are planned to start early next year and include significant interior and exterior updates, an expansive patio and “Burger Garden” and updated kitchen. The 6,384-square-foot restaurant will offer about 325 seats, including space for 100 outdoor seats, to burger lovers in the south metro area. Some of the best design elements from both the Cherry Creek and Ballpark locations will be incorporated into the Littleton location, including a signature fish tank.
“We love Littleton. We collaborated with the city when we built the Breckenridge Brewery & Farmhouse in 2015 and had a really positive experience,” Cerkovnik said.
