BRIGHTON - The plea was not guilty.
As a result, Jose Javier Martinez-Hernandez, the Brighton man accused of two felonies in a March 5 hit-and-run accident in Brighton, will stand trial Nov. 7 in Division Q of Adams County District Court.
Martinez-Hernandez entered his plea during an arraignment June 13.
He faces a count of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, both felonies, after the hit-and-run accident in early March. Brighton police said he intentionally drove his car into a woman from Fort Lupton near 20th Avenue and Egbert Street, then continued to drive as she clung onto the hood of the car. She received life-threatening injuries when she was thrown from the car several blocks away.
