BRIGHTON – The arraignment for a suspended Fort Lupton teacher was continued in Adams County Court Jan. 4.

Ray Brown’s next court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m., March 1. No immediate reason was given.

Brown, who was a popular teacher and coach at Fort Lupton High School, faces a count of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. It’s in connection with an incident at a track meet almost a year ago. Brown also faces a similar charge in Weld County for an incident at a track meet in Greeley. His preliminary hearing on that matter is Jan. 19.
