  • Investigation continues into toddler's drowning

        GREELEY – The Weld County Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the death of a 13-month-old boy early this week.
        Joseph Johnson was found face-down in a bathtub Sept. 20. He died later at Children’s Hospital.
        Fort Lupton police and rescue crews were two doors away at an unrelated call. But despite their efforts and an airborne medical flight to the hospital, Johnson died at 4:30 p.m. that day

    Sept. 13
    Firefighters responded to a medical assist call at 1:13 p.m. in the 1000 block of Mountain View Avenue. One individual was transported to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

    Sept. 14
    Firefighters responded to a medical assist call at 8:09 p.m. in the 400 block of Pacific Avenue. One individual was transported to North Colorado Medical Center.

  • Fire Calls

    Aug. 30
    Firefighters responded to a medical assist call in the 1000 block of Ninth Street. They were canceled en route. The call was in a different district.

    Firefighters responded to a report of a ground cover fire at 4:34 p.m. in the area of 14th Street and U.S. Highway 85. It was a legal, permitted burn.

    Firefighters responded to a report of a ground cover fire at 6:06 p.m. in the 10000 block of Weld County Road 20. Firefighters found a power pole sparking and stood by in the area until United Power arrived on scene.

  • Fort Lupton Fire Calls

    Aug. 23
    Firefighters responded to a medical assist call at 8:54 a.m. in the 1000 block of Applewood Avenue. Paramedics handled the call. It is unknown if medical transport was needed.

    Firefighters responded to a mutual aid call from the Kersey Fire District on a haystack fire at 12:09 p.m. in the 26000 block of Weld County Road 42. Fort Lupton assisted in water shuttling to fight the fire.

    Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at 4:59 p.m. in the 100 block of South Denver Avenue. Paramedics took two refusals.
