  • Lorene B. Rice-Thompson

        Lorene B. Rice-Thompson, 88, of Greeley, went to live with her Savior for eternity on Oct. 18, 2013. She was born Lorene B. Gifford in Peru, Neb., on Jan. 27, 1925. Lorene was raised along with her siblings on homesteads in Franklin County, Kansas.

  • Karen Kay Charbonneau Huss

        Karen Kay Charbonneau Huss, 66, of Brighton died Oct. 14, 2013.
        She was born to the late Dr. Eugene and Audra Charbonneau on Feb. 24, 1947, in Beloit, Kan. Karen graduated valedictorian from Osborne High School in 1965 and received a bachelor’s degree in food nutrition sciences from Kansas State University in 1969, where she was an active member of the Tri Delta sorority. This is were she met, fell in love with and married the love of her life, Peter Huss. They raised their seven children in Colorado.

  • Rodrigo C. Garza

        Rodrigo C. Garza, 69, passed away in Brighton, Colorado Oct. 16, 2013. He was born Dec. 6, 1943, to David and San Juan (Cruz) Garza in Pawnee, Texas.
        Rodrigo married his wife, Ramona, in 1963 before moving to Fort Lupton. Rodrigo worked as migrant labor before settling in Fort Lupton. He also worked in the oilfields for 20 years before retiring.
        Rodrigo is survived by six children; Mary Ann, Sara, David, Yvonne, Clara, Rodrigo and was preceded in death by his parents and son; Desi.

  • Charles Haller

    Charles Haller, 79, of Fort Lupton, passed away Oct. 19, 2013, in Brighton. He was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Atwood, Kan., to Hester (nee Rooney) and Adam Haller. He graduated from St. Agnes Academy.
        Charles served in the U.S. Navy in Korea in September 1951. He marries Patricia Haller on Sept. 4, 1994.
        He is survived by his wife, Patricia; siblings, Jacob Haller, Patrick Haller, Joseph Haller and Mike Adams; and his children, Wendy Sue Halle and John Lynch.

  • Leola V. Schrecongost

        Leola V. Schrecongost, 85, of Denver, passed away Oct. 8, 2013, at her home. She was born Sept. 8, 1928, to Henry and Bertha (Yanken) Paul in Maxwell, Neb., where she also attended school. She married George Schrecongost on Nov. 16, 1946, in Kansas.

  • Dorothy Irene (Scott) Coufal

    Dorothy Irene (Scott) Coufal, 90, of Frederick, passed away Oct. 12, 2013, at her home.  She was born in Guide Rock, Neb., on March 17, 1923, to William Guy Scott and Ethel Lucille (Coplen) Scott. She graduated salutatorian from Guide Rock High School in 1941.  She taught school in a one-room country school during World War II.

  • Gwendolyn H. Nodtvedt

        Gwendolyn (Gwen) H. Nodtvedt, formerly of Boulder and recently residing in Brighton, achieved her long-awaited dream of being with her heavenly father on Oct. 7, 2013, after a full life of 88 years.

  • Sara DeCola

        Sara DeCola, 87, of Brighton, passed away Oct. 7, 2013, in Brighton. She was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Angelo and Marie (Croce) Gramarossa.
        She will be remembered and loved by her family and friends as a great cook, caregiver and a determined spirit. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.

  • Rufus Morales

    Rufus Morales, 85, passed away on Oct. 12, 2013. He was born July 4, 1928, to Stephen and Mariajesus (Perez) Morales in Fort Lupton.

  • Robert Lee Adams

    Robert L. Adams, 75, of Keenesburg, passed away Oct. 11, 2013, at his home. He was born May 30, 1938.
        Robert is survived by his children, Christine Montoya, of Keenesburg, Bob Adams, Ron Adams and Barbara Adams, all of Denver. Other survivors include several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
        A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m., at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
