• Danny Escareno

    Danny Escareno, also known as “Disco Dan”; Kickstand,” 58, of Denver, died Nov. 7, 2008, at his home.

    He was born March 29, 1950, in Eureka, Kan., to Estanislao Escareno and Rebecca (Vargas) Escareno. He married Linda Guzman in 1977. He enjoyed his music and loved his family, especially his grandkids.

    Survivors include his wife; son, Gabe (Amber) Escareno; daughter, Monica Escareno; stepson, Jon Guzman; and seven grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Ralph and Joe.

  • Nancy Roberta Vynckier

    Nancy Roberta Vynckier, 73, of Longmont, died Nov. 5, 2008, at her home.

    She was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Denver, to Roy Edward and Bertha Thompson (Blakeley) Erickson. Nancy was born and raised surrounded with a large extended family in South Denver. She graduated from South High School. Nancy took many classes at local community colleges in accounting and business management.

  • Kaye Kathleen Wood

    Kaye Kathleen Wood, 59, of Fort Lupton, died Nov. 8, 2008, at the Northern Colorado Hospice and Pallative Care Center in Greeley.

    He was born Oct. 24, 1949, in Willard, Colo., to Lewis and Gertrude Wooten.. They moved to Fort Lupton when she was 3. She attended school all 12 years in Fort Lupton where she was involved with many activities and clubs, graduating with the class of 1967.

  • Marcella Dechant

    Marcella Dechant, 76, of Brighton, died Nov. 10, 2008, in Brighton.

    She was born May 26, 1932, in Scott City, Kan., to Jacob Weaver and Christina (Stremel) Weaver. She attended Brighton schools.

    Marcella married Joseph Dechant at St. Augustine Catholic Church and they were married for 58 years. Forty years ago, she was paralyzed in a car accident leaving her to raise her children from her bedside. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

  • R.W. Dellenbach

    U.S. veteran R.W. “Dick” Dellenbach, 90, died Oct. 31, 2008, in Windsor.

    He was born July 22, 1918, in Beardsley, Kan., to Frank and Mildred Dellenbach.

    Dick served his country as a Navy pilot from 1942 to 1946. His business career started at an early age with owning a root beer stand, a shoeshine stand and a duck pin alley. He bought his first auto dealership in 1952 in Fort Lupton. He continued in the auto industry for the next 13 years, settling in Fort Collins in 1956. He was a partner in the Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealership and became full owner in 1971

  • Marco Brookman

    Marco Brookman, 64, of Pueblo, died Oct. 29, 2008, in Pueblo.

    He was born April 15, 1944, in Nicaraqua, to Rosa Maria and John Conrad Brookman.

    Survivors include his mother; daughter, Tara A. Brookman; sons, Jason C. Brookman and Cory L. Brookman; step-sons, Roger Kanzler and Michael Kanzler; step-daughter, Katherine Kanzler, his first wife, Barbara Conrad Brookman; brothers, John, Paul and Richard Brookman; half-brothers, Danillo Guzman, Ramon Guzman; half-sister, Ada Rodriquez; and two grandchildren.

  • Carmen Mary Martinez

    Carmen Mary Martinez, 57, of Erie, died Nov. 7, 2008, at Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville.

    Carmen was born Nov. 5, 1951, in Fort Collins, to Jose C. and Josephine (Lopez) Naranjo. She and her siblings were raised in Berthoud, by their surrogate parents, LeRoy and Margaret Salazar, as her biological parents died young. She graduated from Berthoud High School in 1970, and studied cosmetology in Fort Collins and Greeley.

  • Thomas Edward Stieber Sr.

    U.S. veteran Thomas Edward Stieber Sr., 84, of Brighton, died Oct. 22, 2008, at his home.

    He was born July 25, 1924, in Fort Lupton, to Edward and Mary Agnes (Salter). Tom was born and grew up on the farm his family pioneered. He attended public school in Wattenberg and served in the United States Navy for 18 months during the end of the World War II as a CB in Okinawa. He married Mary Alice McCarrick Jan. 29, 1949, and married Mary Lou Scares July 25, 1998, in Fort Lupton.

  • Betty Ruth Henderson

    Betty Ruth Henderson, of Brighton and formerly of Gunnison, died Nov. 5, 2008, in Brighton.

    She was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Fairmont, Neb. She graduated from Kearney State Teachers College and taught in Lodgepole, Neb., and Yuma, before she married Robert Henderson in 1946. They moved to Gunnison, where they operated a grocery store and both later became educators in Gunnison County schools.

  • Jerry Wright

    Jerry Wright, 57, formerly of Brighton, died Nov. 7, 2008.

    He was born July 25, 1951, in Aurora, Mo., with his twin sister, Kay, to Jerry and Maxine Wright. Ray spent his childhood in Brighton. He participated in many sports and played football with the Brighton High School Bulldogs. In 1969, the family moved to Spokane, Wash., where Ray lived the majority of his life.

    With a career in the home surfaces industry, Ray worked for both local and national firms traveling extensively throughout the Northwest as a sales rep.
