  • Davis, Miller to wed

        Ms. Betty Phillips of Los Angeles, California, and Mr. Mark Davis of Fort Lupton, Colorado announce the engagement of their daughter Meredith Marie Davis to Samuel Andrew Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Miller of Troy, Ohio.   


        Miss Davis is employed as office manager with Brit Insurance in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Miller is a vice president at a global investment banking firm focusing on mergers and acquisitions in Chicago.
        An October wedding is planned.
     

  • Deloris Bergstrom to celebrate 80 years

    The family of Deloris Bergstrom invites the community to participate in a card shower in celebration of her 80th birthday.
        Deloris Schmidt Bergstrom was born July 12, 1931, in Padaroni. She married Ray Bergstrom Dec. 14, 1952. Together they owned and operated Bergstrom Dairy, one of the top 10 farmer-owned dairies in Colorado, for many years and are still living on the family farm where they began their marriage.

  • Wittmus' 80th birthday upcoming

        Peggy Wittmus was born in Burke, S.D., on June 26, 1932. She has been a member of the Fort Lupton community for more than 50 years. She worked in the Fort Lupton school system for five years and retired from the Weld County Department of Motor Vehicles after 18 years of service. She raised four children in Fort Lupton, while her husband, Dean, ran Dean’s Barber Shop.

  • Homyak to celebrate 90th birthday

        Kenneth Homyak will celebrate his 90th birthday with a reception from 1 to 5 p.m., April 7, at Ribbons and Rainbows in Platteville.
        Ken was born March 31, 1922, to Mary and John Homyak on the Homyak farm. He graduated from College High School in 1939 and CSCE in 1946 with a school administrator degree. He was inducted in to the Army Air Corps in 1942, receiving his “wings” and second lieutenant rank in 1943.

  • Dominguez, Blackston to wed

    Jimmy Dominguez Sr. and Michelle Dominguez Grajeda announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie, to Chas Blackston, son of David Blackston and Suzanne Baker (Green) of Brighton.
        

    The wedding will be at 4 p.m., May 19, in Brighton. Mark Grajeda will officiate.

  • LaVere-Curtis to wed

        Craig and Diann Le Vere, of Fort Lupton, are proud to announce the upcoming weeding of their daughter, Kate La Vere, to Christopher Curtis, son of Alan Curtis and Kathy Fulton, of Broomfield.

        A wedding is planned for 7 p.m., June 23, 2012, at Samson Park, with Dr, Judy Cacco officiating.

        Danny Chavez and Tracie Aragon, of Fort Lupton, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Ann Chavez, to JaCoby Williams, son of Jerry and Linda Williams, of Little Rock, Ark.

        The couple has planned a May 26, 2012 wedding in Henderson.

  • Hollowell-Hill to wed

         The families of Andrea Renee Hollowell and Michael (Mike) H. Hill are pleased to announce the engagement of their children.
        Andrea is the daughter of Judy Watson of Elko, Nev., and Kim and Fred Hollowell of Marion, Ark. Andrea is the granddaughter to Patricia and the late Ben Hollowell, of Forrest City, Ark., Clara and John Huggins, of Forrest City, and Jean and Bob Harris, of Fort Smith, Ark.

  • Trostels celebrate 60 years of marriage

        Thomas and Beverly (Moffitt) Trostel were married Oct. 11, 1951 in Brighton.
        The couple have five children; Debra, Tom Jr., Martin, Leilani (deceased), and Rebecca; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
        After only three months of marriage, Tom went into the Air Force during the Korean War.  After he returned, they farmed and ranched in the Fort Lupton/Longmont areas.
