    Brendin was born Sept. 24, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ½ ounces and measured 20 inches.

    Brendin’s grandparents are Kent and Kathie Sublette, of Hudson, Dana and Patty Lanning, of Brighton, and Dave and Wendy Mitchell, of Phoenix, Ariz. His great-grandparents are Keith Dinney, of Brighton, and Bonnie Reed, of Hudson.

    Bernadette and Ernie Ramirez, of Brighton, announce the birth of their son, Mauricio Josiahs Ramirez.

    Mauricio was born Sept. 17, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds and measured 20 ¼ inches.

    Mauricio’s grandparents are Karen Lucero and Rich Lovato, and Ross Lucero, all of Commerce City.

    Mauricio joins siblings Marissa, 13, Alonzo, 12, Andrew, 8, and Alexis, 6, at home.

    Sabrina Heffley, of Fort Lupton, announces the birth of her daughter, Emmalynn Rose Heffley.

  • Johnson-Pigg announce engagement

    Wes and Paula Johnson announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Johnson to Aaron Kyle Pigg, son of Jeff and Connie Pigg. All are from the Fort Lupton area.

    Ashley and Aaron are graduates of Fort Lupton High School. Ashley is a student at Aims Community College and works at CBD Coffee Shop in Fort Lupton. Aaron attended college in McCook, Neb. and is now working at McClane in Aurora.

    An Oct. 10 wedding is planned.

    Beau’s grandparents are Marianne Cross, of Centennial, Rick Cave, of Thornton, and Brenda Holmgren, of Fort Lupton. His great-grandparents are Emma and John Reno, of Fort Lupton, and Ruth Wickman, of Havana, Ill.

    Beau joins sibling, John Paul, at home.

    Army National Guard Pvt. Christopher C. Miles graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

    Miles is the son of Yvonne Luke, of Fort Lupton.

  • Gross graduates from University of Denver

    DENVER — Ashley Gross, of Fort Lupton, graduated June 6 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Denver.

    Gross majored in management, with minors in leadership studies as well as business ethics and legal studies. She works for the University of Denver in the department of human resources and plans to start graduate school in

    January.

  • Bangert-Manternach engaged

    Michael and Marilyn Bangert, of Fort Lupton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jolene, of Greeley, to Ross Manternach, of Loveland, son of Ralph and Rita Manternach of Cascade, Iowa. A Sept. 5 wedding in Loveland is planned.

    Jolene graduated from Fort Lupton High School, Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State University. She works in the marketing department at JBS. Ross graduated from Beckman High School and Iowa State University. He works in the sales department at JBS.
