    Beau was born Aug. 18, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. He weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

    Beau’s grandparents are Marianne Cross, of Centennial, Rick Cave, of Thornton, and Brenda Holmgren, of Fort Lupton. His great-grandparents are Emma and John Reno, of Fort Lupton, and Ruth Wickman, of Havana, Ill.

    Beau joins sibling, John Paul, at home.

    Elisa Chavez, of Fort Lupton, and Eric D. Gonzalez, of Brighton, announce the birth of their daughter, Erika Isabella Gonzalez.

    Erika was born Aug. 25, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds and measured 20 inches.

    Erika’s grandparents are Sharon Esparsen, of Fort Lupton, and Rosa and David Gonzales, of Brighton.

    Erika joins siblings, Jayden, 5, and Jaylynn, 4, at home.

    Miles graduates infantry training

    Army National Guard Pvt. Christopher C. Miles graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

    Miles is the son of Yvonne Luke, of Fort Lupton.

    Cierra and William McNally, of Henderson, announce the birth of their son, Leiland Emmerick McNally.

    Leiland was born Aug. 6, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. He weighed 7 pounds, 11.5 ounces and measured 21 ¼ inches.

    Leiland’s grandparents are Troy and Karen Perkins, of Hudson, and Jennifer McNally, of Abilene, Texas. His great-grandparents are Sandra Perkins, of Greeley, and Debra and John Green, of Denver.

  • Gross graduates from University of Denver

    DENVER — Ashley Gross, of Fort Lupton, graduated June 6 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Denver.

    Gross majored in management, with minors in leadership studies as well as business ethics and legal studies. She works for the University of Denver in the department of human resources and plans to start graduate school in

    January.

  • Bangert-Manternach engaged

    Michael and Marilyn Bangert, of Fort Lupton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jolene, of Greeley, to Ross Manternach, of Loveland, son of Ralph and Rita Manternach of Cascade, Iowa. A Sept. 5 wedding in Loveland is planned.

    Jolene graduated from Fort Lupton High School, Northeastern Junior College and Colorado State University. She works in the marketing department at JBS. Ross graduated from Beckman High School and Iowa State University. He works in the sales department at JBS.

    Rod and Samantha Dudley, of Lochbuie, welcome a son, Wyatt James Dudley.

    Wyatt was born July 4, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 20 ½ inches.

    Paternal grandparents are Kris and Shirley Dudley, of Brighton, and two great-grandmas, Patsy Dudley, of Commerce City, and Jean Laas, of Brighton. Maternal grandparents are Jack and Lisa Stieber, of Delta, and great-grandparents are Jim and Maxine Pugh, of Delta, and Rich and Marlene Stieber, of Fort Lupton.

    Wyatt is welcomed by sister, Cydni.

        Yuridia Mendez and Jorge Rodriguez, of Brighton, announce the birth of their daughter, Abigail Rodriquez Mendez.

        Abigail was born July 27, 2009, at Platte Valley Medical Center. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 inches.

        Abigail’s grandparents are Eva and Angel Mendez, and Maria and Ignacio Rodriguez, all of Brighton.

        Abigail joins sibling, Osvaldo, 2, at home.

  • Alumni association awards annual scholarships

    The Fort Lupton Alumni Association held its summer breakfast July 11. About 40 people enjoyed the food and fellowship. The alumni association awarded two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from the class of 2009. Zachary Nash, who will be attending Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan., and Lauren Rausch, who will be attending South Dakota State University in Brookings S.D., received the scholarships.

  • Krull-Ferguson wed

    Alexis Krull and Scott Ferguson were married June 20, 2009, at the Community Lutheran Church in Hill City, S.D.       Alexis is the daughter of Dennis and Kim Krull, of Hill City. She graduated from Hill City High School in 2004 and earned a bachelor of science degree in business from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., in 2008, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team.     Ferguson is the son of Walter and Toni Grant, of Fort Lupton.
