By the time Monday, Oct. 8, rolls around, Fort Lupton's softball team may have a seat at the postseason playoff table.

As of Friday, FLHS was 12th in the state's RPI rankings, the method CHSAA uses to determine postseason qualifiers. The top 24 teams advance in class 3A.

The pairings are due out Monday. The tournament is Saturday, Oct. 13. FLHS needs to win just once in a maximum two-game set to advance to the state tournament for the second straight year.

FLHS closed out the regular season with a 16-1, home-field win over Riverdale Ridge Oct. 4. Hilda Rivera was one big reason why. She had a base hit and drove in four runs. Aiyana Bravo struck out eight in four innings of pitching and picked up the win.
