The Colorado Blue Angels are a first-year, 12U, fast-pitch softball team based out of Fort Lupton.

The nonprofit program consists of 10 young girls who live, love and breath softball. Most of these young ladies are born and raised in Fort Lupton along with many of the girls parents, grandparents and even coaches.

Coaches said the team’s competitiveness, hard work, passion, and dedication has earned them an invitation as they qualified for the 2019 USSSA West Coast Nationals in West Covina, California. The tournament is July 29 through Aug. 3.

“We as parents believe this is a great opportunity for these girls to compete in a national tournament. We are one of two teams from Colorado playing in our age division. We are invited with only six weeks of planning, fundraising and asking sponsors to help make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible for these young ladies because we believe these girls are the future of Fort Lupton,” said team treasurer Kyla Davis. “With the help of the local community, our family and friends, we are hoping to raise enough money to help these girls get to the national tournament to be able to compete and play.”
