Richard 'Dick' H. Riddell

    Dick Riddell, 91, of Brighton passed on July 27, 2013 at his home. Dick was born to William and Mary (Metcalfe) Riddell in Fort Collins, Colorado in September of 1922. Dick attended Colorado A&M, now Colorado State University, where he was in the Army Artillery ROTC. While at college, World War II started. Dick enlisted and was sent to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for basic training. In the fall of 1944, while home on leave, Dick was set up on a blind date with Joella Swackenberg, also a student at Colorado A&M.
