Public Lands Day

09/22/2018 - 12:30am - 3:00pm

The 25th annual Public Lands Day is Saturday, Sept. 22. Americas for Conservation and the Arts plans to commemorate the day of outdoor recreation and learning at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Participants will also collect pollinator seeds to replant at the refuge to restore natural grasslands.

The theme this year is Restoration and Resilience. The National Environmental Education Foundation expects more than 200,000 volunteers will turn out nationwide for trail maintenance and planting projects, trash pick-ups and other refurbishing activities aimed at restoring public lands and making them more resilient.

The day also is a free day for all national parks and state and local parks. Visit NEEFUSA.org/NPLD.
