Marijuana grow goes awry

Fort Lupton firefighters say a marijuana grow operation caused a barn, a camper, a semi tractor-trailer rig and an enclosed trailer to catch fire early July 23.

It happened in the 1600 block of Lamb Ave. around 1 a.m. A Facebook post said crews worked through the night to extinguish the fire and look into what caused it.

Firefighters had help from Frederick Firestone, Hudson and Platteville/Gilcrest fire departments. There were no injuries, and officials are looking for who was responsible for the grow.

The call came just as crews left a smoke investigation call in Aristocrat Acres.
