Manhunt comes to a halt in south Fort Lupton

Police from several agencies called off a manhunt north of Brighton May 3 after more than 90 minutes of searching.

Brighton police tweeted that the suspect was wanted in connection with a domestic-violence incident in Lochbuie. He was not arrested.

It started shortly after 7:30 p.m. near Weld County Roads 2 and 27. At one point, some 20 officers were in SWAT gear, according to a tweet from Northern News Net.

Authorities called off the search shortly after 9:15 p.m. Brighton police were on scene, as were officers from Lochbuie, the Fort Lupton Police Department, deputies from the Weld County Sheriff's Department and troopers from the Colorado State Patrol.
