12/01/2018 - 1:15pm

Get in the holiday spirit with the 14th annual tree lighting event at the Frederick Festival of Lights, 6-8 p.m. at Crist Park. The event includes carriage rides, photos with Santa, holiday entertainment, live ice carving, cookies and hot chocolate. It’s the end of a full day of holiday activities as part of a combined effort between all three cities in the Tri Towns.

First stop is the Carbon Valley Regional Library, 7 Park Ave. Santa will be there for pictures, and participants will have a chance to create holiday crafts.

Next up is a stop at Coal Ridge Middle School, 6201 Booth Drive, between noon and 4 p.m. Kids can share their wish lists and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa’s Workshop will be operational for kids to make their own gifts and ornaments. There will be crafts designed the older kids, too, not to mention hot chocolate and cookies.

Dacono’s tree-lighting ceremony is at City Hall. It comes with a complimentary chili dinner and pictures with Santa and the Mountain View antique fire engine. There will be wagon rides, a chance to create holiday crafts.

The Carbon Valley Holiday Festival Chili with Santa goes from 4 to 6 p.m. at 512 Cherry Ave., Dacono.
