The city of Fort Lupton adopted its $44 million budget for 2019.

Its economic forecast continues to be strong, city officials say, due to the 2017 sales tax increase of 18 percent, which is expected to increase by 3 percent for 2018 from the city’s oil and gas industry.

The year-end projected budget for 2018 is $50 million. Even though next year’s budget represents a 12 percent decrease, city finance Director Leann Perino said most of the drop is due to construction the city’s drinking water supply.
