BRIGHTON — The owners of Fat Brothers Burgers & Wings served their last lunch at their location on North Main Street on Thursday, July 31, but they expect to be back at the grill soon in Brighton.

In an announcement posted on Facebook, Fat Brothers noted that the lease is up at their 218 N. Main St. location and that the building they were negotiating to lease and move to had recently been purchased, delaying a finalization of the lease negotiations.

“We are trying to do this as quickly as possible but also want to make sure we are getting a lease that is best for us as well,” the announcement read.

Brothers Rich, Marc and Gabe Reyes had opened the Brighton location in October 2012. The restaurant is known primarily for its all-American fare such as the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, Nathan’s all-beef hot dogs, Frito pies and hot wings. The restaurant also served up some of the brothers own burger creations, such as the Fat Bastard (two half-pound patties topped with double cheese, double bacon and onion rings), the Double Trouble (a half-pound burger topped with golden fries, smothered in green chili, lettuce and tomato), and the Bulldog Burger, a half-pound cheeseburger topped with a grilled hot sausage link.

Fat Brothers' original location in Fort Lupton, at 737 Denver Ave., remains open and will be offering delivery orders to Brighton.
