Get in the holiday spirit with the 14th annual tree lighting event at the Frederick Festival of Lights, 6-8 p.m. at Crist Park. The event includes carriage rides, photos with Santa, holiday entertainment, live ice carving, cookies and hot chocolate.

It wraps up the Carbon Valley Holiday Festival, a combined effort between Firestone, Frederick and Dacono. The first events at the Carbon Valley Regional Library, 7 Park Ave., include a visit from Santa and creation of crafts.

The place to be bewteen noon and 4 p.m. is Coal Ridge Middle School, 6201 Booth Drive. Kids can share their wish lists and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa’s workshop will be in full swing so kids can create their own gifts and ornaments.

Dacono’s tree lighting will be at City Hall. It follows a complimentary chili dinner and more pictures with Santa and the Mountain View antique fire engine.
