Brighton teen dies in traffic collision

FORT LUPTON -- Fort Lupton police continued to investigate a collision that left one man dead. The Weld County coroner identified the victim as Jose Zavala-Gonzalez, 18, of Brighton.

It happened on U.S. Highway 85 at Weld County Road 14 1/2 about 9:15 Friday morning. Cmdr. Maria Moll said a Chevrolet pick-up truck collided with a Chevrolet Malibu. Neither vehicle rolled over, but Zavala-Gonzalez, who was in the front seat of the Malibu died.
