  • William N. Lucero

    William N. Lucero, 58, of Brighton, passed away Aug. 19, 2013, in Aurora.
        He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Brighton; two sons, Shane and Bryan; brothers Henry (Stella) Lucero, Ralph (Michelle) Lucero, Manuel (Rose) Lucero, and James Lucero; sisters Irene Torres, Senida Sena, Sally (Chuck) Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
        He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Tomasita Lucero; brothers Lupe and David; and one sister Mary; and daughter Natasha Aliea Michelle Lucero.

  • Arlene Luenser

        Arlene Luenser, 76, of Frederick, died at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 28, 2013, surrounded by her family at TRU Hospice Center in Louisville, from cancer.

  • Sueji Nishimoto

        Sueji Nishimoto, 81, unexpectedly passed away Aug. 7, 2013, in Westminster. He was born March 1, 1932. Sueji is survived by his siblings, Hugh (Alice) Nishimoto, Helen Fukaye, and Shigeru (Marie) Nishimoto, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Harry Nishimoto (brother), George Nishimoto (brother), Nobe Nishimoto (brother), and Rosie Yasuhara (sister).
        A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the Olinger Highland Chapel, 10201 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229.
     

  • Otto L.. Duffey

        Otto Lynn Duffey, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sept. 1, 2013. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Menlo, Kan., to James Thomas Duffey and Dulcye Antonia Greene. He graduated from Menlo Consolidated School in 1957 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958 where he made a career of 20 years. Otto married Bonna Jean Foos on Nov. 11, 1962, after which they lived in Okinawa for three years. After retiring in 1978, he worked as a truck driver, mechanic, security guard and a dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad.

  • Leona 'Lee' Gee

    Leona “Lee” Gee, 78, passed away after a car accident Aug. 21, 2013. She was born Feb. 24, 1935.
        Lee was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and is now with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • Eddie Joe Freeman

    Eddie Joe Freeman, 60, of Thornton, passed away Aug. 23, 2013, in Broomfield. He was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Denver, to Wilbur and Claudia (Mount) Freeman. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1971.

  • Germaine Hoffman

        Germaine Hoffman, 91, of Brighton, passed away Aug. 21, 2013, at her home. She was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Schoenchen, Kan., to Paul and Clara (Randa) Dinges. Germaine attended school in Kansas and later married Benedict Hoffman in June of 1941.
        She worked as a factory worker canning vegetables for over 14 years. In her free time she enjoyed dancing, reading and loved spending time with her family.

  • Tillie E. Martinez

        Tillie E. Martinez, 76, longtime resident of Brighton, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. Born Feb. 12, 1937, in Roy, N.M., to Elias Sanchez and Endelesia Sandoval, she was a resident of Brighton since 1938.

  • Dr. Ival Ray Thomas

        Dr. Ival Ray Thomas, 69, passed away Aug. 20, 2013. He was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Coeburn, Va., to Virgie Macie and John Thomas.
        He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and later the University of Tennessee at Memphis, where he earned his M.D. in 1969 and met his lifelong friend, Fred Williams. He then moved to Richmond, Va., to complete his medical internship at the Medical College of Virginia.

  • Lesley Moore Zavala-Franco

    Lesley Moore Zavala-Franco, 32, of Brighton, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at her home. Lesley was born Aug. 22, 1980, in Aurora, to Gregory and Timothie Moore of Newport, N.H.
        She shared a marriage with Jose Zavala Franco from Léon, Mexico, for 10 years. She is survived by her two children, Ezrah Durant Moore, 13, and Jose Vincent Franco, 11; as well as her sister, Caisey Webb, of San Diego, Calif.; and her brothers Marley and Radley Norton Moore, of Roggen.
