Georgia transplant and United Way of Weld County employee Malikia Brown-Mullin will represent Weld County in April's Mrs. Colorado pageant at the Denver Performing Arts Center. It's the first time the wife and mother of five has tried her hand at pageantry, but will go into the competition brimming with confidence after getting lots of support from her husband, Kevin, and the organization she will represent. As a resource development account manager for Weld County's United Way, Brown-Mullin serves much of southern Weld County, including Fort Lupton and Carbon Valley.

WELD COUNTY — Whether or not Malikia Brown-Mullin winds up the next Miss America, there’s no denying she has already made the most of her family’s recent move to Weld County.

Citing a desire to bring more attention to the county, the Greeley community, and the non-profit she works for, the 43-year-old wife and mother of five can now add the title of Beauty Queen to her résumé.
