Firefighters from Brighton and Fort Lupton (background) spent more than 30 minutes
freeing the driver of an overturned van. The driver of the foreground car
escaped serious injury after a collision Monday evening at the intersection of
Highway 85 and WCR 6. The injured van driver was flown by medical helicopter to a Denver area trauma center. The accident is under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
Firefighters from Brighton and Fort Lupton literally had to cut the driver of this
overturned van from the vehicle following a Monday evening crash on Highway 85 at WCR 6. It appears that the driver of the van failed to slow for the
red light and collided with a car that was stopped. The driver of the car was
transported by ambulance to an area hospital while the driver of the van was flown
by medical helicopter to a local trauma center. The Colorado State Patrol continued to investigate.
