Now that a new year is under way, it’s time to begin thinking about preschool preregistration at the Fort Lupton School District for the 2012-13 school year.
Students turning 4 by Sept. 15 are eligible if living within the school district boundaries.
The process starts during the evenings of parent-teacher conferences. Parents can pick up a preschool packet at Butler Elementary School from 4 to 8 p.m., Feb. 28 (if your child will attend Butler) and for Twombly elementary students from 4 to 8 p.m., March 1.
The preschool packet, with a cover letter, will explain the process and required supplemental documents. A time will then be scheduled for a return visit during the months of March or April on predetermined dates in which families return their paperwork and turn in supporting documentation. On this visit, students will receive a brief assessment from one of the preschool teaching staff. The district says it’s imperative to get as many children through the pre-registration process as possible to provide the school with an idea of staffing needs for the upcoming school year.
For those unable to attend the scheduled day during parent-teacher conferences, stop by your child’s school and the secretaries will be able to assist you. The secretaries will then set parents up for an assessment day on a remaining available day. Preschool packets can be picked up and returned during the summer months as well.
