Miguel Cervantes, 85, of Fort Lupton, died Feb. 19, 2012, in Longmont. He was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Silaogto, Mexico, to Apolinar Cervantes and Joaquina Murillo. He attended schools in Mexico and married Manuela Argumedo in 1952.
Miguel worked as a laborer in the construction industry for more than 15 years. He enjoyed driving and counting money. He loved to eat, travel and he loved cars. Miguel’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Oscar (Debra) Cervantes of Commerce City, Rene (Maria) Cervantes of Longmont, Delfina (Alfredo) Ortiz of Fort Lupton and Raul Cervantes of Fort Lupton; sister, Maritina Alananis, of Silano, Mexico; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Manuela, in 2010.
A Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Feb. 23. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m., Feb. 24, both at St. Williams Catholic Church in Ft. Lupton. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
