Golden sneaks past Bluedevils in basketball playoffs

GOLDEN -- Golden just got past Fort Lupton 60-58 in the first round of the boys 4A state basketball playoffs Tuesday night.

Neither team had much of an edge. Golden led by a point at the end of the first quarter, and Fort Lupton led by a point at halftime. GHS outscored the Bluedevils by three in the third quarter, and each team scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Nate Hill and Austin Rickard led the Demons with 13 points. Jordan Johnson was next with 12. No stats were immediately available for Fort Lupton.

Golden improves to 15-9 and will face third-seeded Windsor Friday. Fort Lupton ended its season with a record of 9-15.
