Former officer acquitted in road rage incident

A jury found former Ault police officer Blair Jackson, 49, not guilty of vehicular homicide Wednesday, Feb. 8, in connection with a fatal car crash June 1 about 10 miles north of Fort Lupton.

Esteban Moreno Jr. 39, died at the scene of the wreck at U.S. Highway 85 and Weld County Road 33 ½ after his car rolled into the ditch, based on photos of the scene.

Jackson was arrested in the incident and later released on a $25,000 bond. He was off duty at the time of the crasg.

Jackson had several prior reckless driving charges in which he pled guilty, most recently in January 2016 in Larimer County, according to media reports.
