For the 32nd consecutive year, the Weld County Accounting Department was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
Weld County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, produced by the accounting team, was judged by an impartial panel to see if it met the high standards of the GFOA program, including “demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure,’ to clearly communicate its financial story.”
According to the GFOA release, the certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“The Board of Commissioners is proud of the work our accounting staff does year after year,” said Commissioner Chairman Douglas Rademacher, when he was told of the award for 2013’s reporting. “We are also honored that their work has been consistently recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association. It speaks highly of our department and highly of county government.”
