FORT LUPTON – Halloween is just around the corner, and families and pets alike can celebrate the season at Barktober Fest.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Oct. 22, in the south parking lot of the Fort Lupton Recreation/Community Center, 203 S. Harrison Ave.
Pet owners are encouraged to bring their special pets to this event, decked out in their favorite Halloween costume. Owners are welcome to don their favorite costumes too.
“The purpose of this event is to generate fun and to bring the community and their pets together,” councilperson Terrie Asay said. “Awards will be given for best costume for owners and pets. There also will be an ugly dog contest. All pets must be on a leash and people-friendly. Owners are required to come prepared to clean up after their own pets.”
