Cartoon theme marks FLHS homecoming week

If you like cartoons from the past 50 or 60 years, then this year's homecoming festivities at Fort Lupton High School are just right for you.

"Cartoons through the Decades" is the theme for this year's homecoming. Suggested wardrobe is pajamas (Monday, Sept. 11); dress in your favorite cartoon T-shirt (Tuesday, Sept. 12); dress like a hippie (Wednesday, Sept. 13); dress like the 1980s (Thursday, Sept. 14); and dress in Bluedevil gear (Friday, Sept. 15).

Lunch-hour activities include Cartoon Pictionary Sept. 11; a piñata Sept. 12; a mystery game and car smashing ($1 a hit) Sept. 13; car smashing returns ($1 per hit) Sept. 14; and a chance to paint one's spirit face Sept. 15.

Powder puff football starts at 6 p.m., Sept. 13, followed by an 8 p.m. bonfire. The school's homecoming parade starts at 4 p.m., Sept. 15, followed by a chili supper at the school and the homecoming football game between the Bluedevils and The Pinnacle at 7 p.m. The homecoming dance wraps up the week at 7 p.m., Sept. 16.
