Today we mourn the loss of longtime resident and local business owner in Brighton. Carolyn Mae Kinsey McCuen passed away in the morning of Feb. 14, 2012, after a three-year battle with cancer. She lived with her middle daughter, Donna Rosales, who was her caregiver.
Carolyn and Stan McCuen owned and operated Cherry Sales & Rentals since 1973. Carolyn had also been a real estate agent, then broker, with Century 21, then Metro Brokers in Brighton. All of her family was present during her last days through the final moments.
Her husband, Stan, preceded her in death in January 2005.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kristine D. (Dan) Tucker, Donna R. Rosales and Jaime L. (Dave) Becker. She had eight grandchildren, Leighton, 20, and Jordann Tucker, 18, TJ, 24, and Justine Rosales, 20, Alexi, 20, Chelsea, 18, and Izaiah Sand, 13, and Brenden, 14, and Caidan, Becker, 7.
There will be a graveside service for family later in the spring. Her remains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, next to Stan’s.
She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Tabor-Rice Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
