FORT LUPTON — Hundreds of visitors gathered Saturday at the Historic Fort park in Fort Lupton to celebrate the annual Heritage Fair sponsored by the South Platte Valley Historical Society.

Of particular note this year was the dedication of the recently restored 1850s Trapper’s Cabin, which previously stood in Commerce City and was moved last year to the Historic Fort for renovation, standing alongside other historic structures and items preserved over the years.

In addition to re-enactors portraying Buffalo Soldiers and Revolutionary War-era soldiers, two Denver-based vintage baseball teams gave an exhibition on how old-time ball was played.
